About the museum
The Museo delle Terre Marchigiane in San Lorenzo in Campo is dedicated to the rural culture and history of the Marche. It holds the Collezione Straccini, a collection of objects linked to the everyday life, crafts and customs of Marche society; sources speak of over a thousand pieces, others of more than three thousand.
The route is divided into four itineraries: places of life, with reconstructed spaces of the rural sharecropper’s house (casa del mezzadro); meeting places, showing spaces for leisure and social life; old crafts, with the workshops and workplaces of artisans; and collections, with sections devoted to ceramics and to copper and iron objects. Sound and visual installations bring the reconstructions to life.
