About the museum
The museum grew out of the passion of Luciano Nicolis, a Veronese entrepreneur and collector who founded Lamacart and devoted his life to preserving technical and industrial heritage. The 6,000-square-metre exhibition space opened in 2000 and holds a collection that is shared with the public as an example of entrepreneurial culture.
The collections are divided into ten thematic sections: over 200 vintage cars, 104 motorcycles, 114 bicycles, around 500 cameras, movie cameras and film equipment, 100 musical instruments and jukeboxes, 102 typewriters, three aircraft with flight instruments, a military area with memorabilia from the two World Wars, models and engines. A rare collection includes 106 steering wheels from Formula 1, touring, gran turismo and sports cars.
Among the marques represented are Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Lancia, Maserati, Bugatti, Rolls-Royce, Avions Voisin, Darracq and Isotta Fraschini. The museum has received international awards in the field of classic cars, including the “Museum of the Year” from the Historic Motoring Awards in London, and is part of the “Città dei Motori” network.
