About the museum
The museum is housed in the parish of Borgo Podgora, a hamlet of Latina, whose original name was Sessano. The permanent exhibition brings together photographs and objects of the Agro Pontino from 1926, shortly before the start of the reclamation, up to 1944, the year of the Allied landings at Anzio and Nettuno.
An important space is devoted to the testimonies of the reclamation work and of the settlement by Venetian families. The museum also recalls that Sessano was the first place to be reclaimed in the Pontine marsh and that in its first four years it housed the workers of the Consorzio di Bonifica di Piscinara.
