About the museum
The Museo storico dei lucchetti is in Cedogno, a hamlet of Neviano degli Arduini in the Parma Apennines, and opened to the public in 2001 on the initiative of Vittorio Cavalli. It is presented as the first museum in the world devoted exclusively to padlocks.
The collection, assembled over roughly seventy years, comprises more than 4,000 portable locks of different periods, materials and shapes, mainly from Europe and Asia.
