About the museum
Palazzo Colocci, overlooking the square of the same name in Jesi, was built in the second half of the 16th century and for centuries was the residence of the Colocci-Vespucci marquises, one of the oldest and most influential families in the city. Today it can be visited as a house museum, but the impression is more that of a lived-in home than of a museum in the strict sense.
The rooms contain furniture, everyday objects, paintings and family memorabilia that tell the story of the lifestyle of the Jesi nobility between the 18th and 20th centuries. The guided tour takes visitors into spaces that remain linked to the memory of the family.
The house museum is part of the Rete Museale Urbana MJ of Jesi, the network that brings together the city’s main museums and offers a network ticket valid for several sites.
