The museum is located in the village of Reškutėnai, between Lake Kretuonas and Lake Kretuonykštis, about 12 km north of Švenčionys.
The collection comprises archaeological finds, textiles by local weavers, church utensils and old books, traditional musical instruments, household items, a collection of stones and even a meteorite.
