About the museum
Eidsfoss is described as one of Norway's best preserved ironworks communities, and the ironworks is dated to 1697. The place lies in Holmestrand municipality, between Bergsvannet and Eikeren.
Eidsfoss ironworks museum has a collection of cast-iron stoves and other products from the ironworks era. The museum is housed in the storehouse at the outlet of Eidselva. The site also has Eidsfos hovedgård as a separate visitor site, and exhibitions have told, among other things, of Elise Formerenke at Eidsfos Verk and Rakel Seweriin.
The ironworks is run by Vestfoldmuseene IKS, which has its local office in the old schoolroom at Hauane.
