About the museum
Normoria is the visitor centre of Nordmørsmusea in Kristiansund and houses the regional museum's main exhibition, "Folk i bevegelse" (People on the Move), which is open all year round. Various theme exhibitions are also shown throughout the year, and the building has its own rooms for education and outreach.
Nordmørsmusea is a consolidated regional museum responsible for looking after and further developing the cultural heritage of Nordmøre. The museum is organised as a limited company (aksjeselskap) and manages a collection owned by municipalities and museum associations in the region. It comprises more than 114 buildings, many boats and objects, and a large archive. The public can visit the museum's departments in nine municipalities.
Normoria also houses the head office, workrooms, a photo archive room and the store for the regional collection.
