About the museum
The Izba Pamięci Poli Negri (Pola Negri Memorial Room) opened on 24 October 2005, during the unveiling of a plaque dedicated to the actress of world cinema who was born in Lipno. It was set up thanks to the efforts of the founders and members of the Lipnowskie Towarzystwo Kulturalne im. Poli Negri (Lipno Cultural Society named after Pola Negri).
The room displays souvenirs related to the actress's life and career, as well as documents, letters and publications on the history of cinema. The collection is added to year by year. The society also runs a virtual museum devoted to Pola Negri.
The room is located in the building of the Nawojka cinema on ul. Mickiewicza. The building was formerly an Orthodox church from the period of the Russian partition, and the cinema took up residence in it between the wars. Admission is free, and visits take place after prior telephone contact.
