About the museum
The Kalamar family farmstead in Domanjševci was built in 1931 and has today been converted into an ethnographic house. The first exhibition was opened in it in 2012.
In the main building and the outbuildings, visitors learn how brandy was once distilled, how pumpkin seeds were cleaned and dried, how bread was baked, they get to know different types of cereal, basket weaving (cekar baskets), and a shoemaker’s and a carpenter’s workshop. The yard in front of the house is the venue of the largest open-air event in Domanjševci, where a traditional method of harvesting and threshing is demonstrated.
