Muzej na prostem Vodice

About the museum
The area with numerous caverns and trenches from the First World War has been arranged as an open-air museum. On the top of Vodice stands a mausoleum built in honour of the Italian general Maurizio Ferrante Gonzaga. The general wished to be buried at the place where his soldiers had died in the First World War.
Because the Second World War broke out, the mausoleum was never completed and the general was never buried in it. Visitors can see the mausoleum, a group of caverns and other remains from the First World War.
