About the museum

Åkerbo maskinhistoriska förening was founded in 2006 by a group of people who wanted to preserve cultural heritage objects, above all from farming. Interest was sparked in 2005, when a group gathered at the home of a future member to show hot-bulb engines. The association took its name from the former Åkerbo municipality, which became part of Linköping Municipality in 1970.

The association began collecting farm machinery and first showed its tractors, hot-bulb engines and carts at village festivals and markets. Since 1 June 2007 it has rented the Lundby loge in Ö-Skrukeby, which has been converted into a small museum and a larger hall that several local associations can use.

The collections include small engines, an Odin producer-gas unit from 1942 and veteran tractors. The association is still building up the agricultural museum.
