About the museum
Dalby Datormuseum is run by Rune Andersson and his son Mattis Lind and is located in a converted barn in Dalby on Aspö, about 15 kilometres north of Strängnäs. Rune began collecting old computers and other technical objects, such as radio receivers and telex machines, in the early 1980s. The first machines were a DEC PDP-8 and PDP-9.
The collection grew over time, and the family decided to build up a special museum. The aim is for as many computers as possible to be kept running, which requires a great deal of maintenance of the old machines. The museum restores and preserves historic computers and peripheral equipment from many manufacturers, including Digital Equipment, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Commodore, Luxor and Ericsson.
The museum has no fixed opening hours. Visits take place after contacting the museum, and public viewings are announced in the museum's Facebook group.
