About the museum
The museum opened in 1989 on Öland. After twelve years it moved to Gärsnäs in Skåne and then to several places on the Småland highlands. Since 1 July 2014 it has been in Bodafors, in the old bursar's residence (kamrersbostaden) from the 1880s–90s.
The collection includes dolls of porcelain, celluloid, papier-mâché, rubber and vinyl, Barbie dolls mainly from the 1960s and Ginger dolls from the 1950s. There are also teddy bears and soft toys, wooden horses, cars, trains, games, Elastolin figures, children's clothes, children's books and doll's prams, as well as Star Wars figures from the 1980s. Vintage fashion from 1880 to 1980 is also on show. On the veranda there is a second-hand shop with vintage items.
