About the museum
Gotte-Lars stuga is the only surviving ryggås cottage in Kville hundred. It was moved to its present site in 1811 and is believed to have been old even then. The cottage consists of two rooms and a small porch with a trodden earth floor, and here the siblings Gotte-Lars and Lena lived more than a hundred years ago.
Lars was born in 1835 and his sister Lena in 1838. Their father was a soldier, but Lars fished in his youth. Being small of stature, he could not do heavy work. Alongside fishing he sold biscuits and sweets and ran errands, for example fetching the midwife from Svenneby. Lars was also considered to have second sight (synsk). The cottage is managed by Svenneby local heritage society.
