About the museum
Kallinge museum is run by the non-profit association Kallinge museum, which was formed at the end of 2015. In 2016 the association took over the collections from the former Gjuteri- och emaljmuseet (Foundry and Enamel Museum) and built on them with the aim of showing how the works town of Kallinge grew. The museum is in premises by the old industrial area around Kockums Jernverk, on Flisevägen.
The collections include cast-iron goods, stoves and other products from Kockums, but also objects and pictures that reflect the development of the community and its buildings, the association life, the sports movement, aviation and the railway. Industry has been at the center of Kallinge’s history; companies such as Kockums Jernverk, Värmo, Tarkett, Kallingekök, Toni-Lee and Cascades Djupafors have been major employers here and driven the growth of the locality.
The museum is a living museum where members document and research in study groups. The association works, among other things, with a large picture archive of photographs from Kockums, Djupafors, Kallinge and Ronneby, and with an exhibition in the basement.
