About the museum
Naturum Blekinge is the county’s visitor centre and lies in the middle of the Ronneby Brunnspark cultural reserve, in the building known as Gymnastiken. It is run by the Blekinge County Administrative Board and serves as the starting point for anyone who wants to discover the park and Blekinge’s nature, with all its nature reserves and cultural environments.
Ronneby Brunnspark was once Sweden’s largest and most distinguished spa park and has roots as a spa resort from the early 18th century. Today there are 25 listed buildings in the park, which covers an area of about 100 hectares. In the forest next to it, Brunnsskogen, there is a trail network including the family trail Ekorrestigen (the Squirrel Trail).
In naturum there are exhibitions on Ronneby Brunnspark, the Bräkneån valley, the Blekinge sea, coast and archipelago, and on ARK56 and the Blekingeleden (Blekinge Trail). A small cinema, Bio naturum, shows short films, and in the Labbet (lab) visitors can study material from nature. The exhibitions also include live animals, such as aquariums with fish, crayfish and tadpoles, and a beehive.
