About the museum
Tians gård was moved to its present site in 1849 in connection with the land partition (laga skifte) in Ivetofta village. The farm was built up by Ola Westesson and his wife Kersti Olasdotter, who farmed it until 1881. It was then owned by Count Trolle Wachtmeister and leased out for many years. In 1940 Iföverken bought the farm for future development, and in the 1950s a foundation was formed by several associations, which gave the farm the name Tians gård.
Ivetofta hembygdsförening (local heritage association) became a founder in 1994, together with Tunnbyringen and Bromölla Municipality. In 2001 the local history museum in the farm was inaugurated, a museum in which women's work is particularly highlighted. The collection comprises about 790 objects from the late 19th century to the 1980s, with photographs and objects on women's work in care and trade, textiles, a joinery shed and a collection of children's toys.
The farm also has a small chapel, which was once a potato cellar, and premises that can be rented for events. The local heritage association opens the farm on special days, such as Homecomers' Day (Hemvändardagen), and shows the farm by arrangement.
