About the museum
Litografiska Museet (Lithographic Museum) has been at Sundby gård (Sundby Manor) in Huddinge since 2005. The museum is run by the association Litografklubbens Arkiv (Lithography Club Archive) with the support of Huddinge Municipality. The aim is to keep lithography alive through guided tours for groups and individuals, courses, exhibitions and printing in the museum's own workshop.
The museum is a working-life museum with a lithographic workshop and an exhibition hall. It holds a large collection of lithographs and lithographic stones, and the collections of older lithographic prints are largely digitised and searchable in a database. The workshop is equipped with rubbing presses (rivarpressar) and is open to artists and printers. Larger editions are printed on the stop-cylinder press Johanna from 1897.
The daily running is handled by one employee, while guided tours, courses, marketing and some administration are done by volunteers, often with a background in the graphics industry. The exhibition hall shows art exhibitions and other exhibitions connected with lithography, and courses in stone lithography are held every term.
