About the museum

Mälby Traktormuseum is located in Mälbylund in Jäder, about one and a half mil outside Eskilstuna. The museum began about thirty years ago as a small collection of tractors, and Ove Jansson has built it up into a museum that holds far more than farm machinery. The museum is run by the brothers Ove and Olle Jansson.

The collection comprises over fifteen hundred objects from earlier times, including around seventy tractors from the years 1925–1954, as well as agricultural implements. Visitors also encounter settings such as an old BP petrol station, a country store with tins and packaging, a shoemaker's workshop, a smithy, kitchen utensils and tools.

Visits take place by arrangement, and the walk-through tour is often led by the museum's owners. On the grounds there is also Lillstugan, where crafts and gift items are sold.
