About the museum
Marabouparkens konsthall (Marabou Park Art Hall) lies by the Bällstaån stream in Sundbyberg, in one of Sweden's best-preserved functionalist parks. This is where Marabou started its chocolate production, and the company had a sculpture and park environment created for its employees in the belief that art plays an important role both for the individual and for society. The area is a protected building and an industrial-historical gem with interesting architecture.
The art hall is run by Stiftelsen Parken (The Park Foundation), which has been active in Sundbyberg since 2005. It shows contemporary art with a focus on the human condition in society, history and the present. Both the exhibition programme and the education have a green profile, with climate and sustainability at the centre. The park, with its trees, plantings and the well-known sculpture collection, is an important asset for the activities.
In the park stand works by, among others, Marino Marini, Gustav Vigeland, Henri Laurens, Bror Hjorth, Eric Grate and Leonard Baskin. The art hall arranges guided visits, children's activities and concerts, and a visit often ends at the outdoor seating of the restaurant Savannah.
