About the museum
Naturum Ånge is run by Ånge Municipality and is one of Sweden's naturum visitor centres, a name owned by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket). Here visitors can learn more about the municipality's nature and culture through an exhibition, programmes and guided excursions offered all year round.
The building is located at the Borgsjö rest stop along the E14, midway between Sundsvall and Östersund, and is shared with a restaurant and a campsite. In the same house are Ånge Municipality's tourist office, which is open all year round, a small souvenir shop and the Borgsjö pilgrim centre. There pilgrims get information about the 58 mil (Swedish miles) long St Olav's Way, can buy and stamp pilgrim passports, and learn more about the history around the saint St Olof.
Right outside naturum runs St Olav's Way, and nearby are a bathing place with a barbecue area, the Borgsjö homestead museum (Borgsjö hembygdsgård), Borgsjö church from the 18th century and the Ranklevens nature reserve.
