About the museum
Skånska Järnvägar is a museum railway with standard gauge in Österlen in eastern Skåne. The line between Brösarp and S:t Olof forms part of the old Ystad–Brösarps Järnväg, whose first sod was turned in 1899 and which opened to traffic in 1901. The association was formed in 1969, and since 1971 trains have run on the stretch Brösarp–S:t Olof.
The association bought the line between Brösarp and S:t Olof from the state in 2002, and the line between S:t Olof and Gärsnäs from Simrishamn municipality in 2006. The vehicle fleet consists of several preserved steam locomotives, the oldest from 1907, passenger carriages, a diesel locomotive and rail buses that were bought from Denmark in 1975. Some vehicles are on loan from the Statens järnvägsmuseum (Swedish National Railway Museum).
The station environments in Brösarp, Ravlundabro, Vitaby and S:t Olof are preserved, and the round trip takes about an hour and a half. The operation is largely run by members working on a voluntary basis.

| Good to know | A round trip takes about 90 minutes. Dogs may travel on the train; ask the staff whether there is room. In case of high fire risk or a fault on the steam locomotive, a veteran diesel locomotive can replace it. The train can also be boarded in Vitaby, Ravlundabro (stop signal with a tin plate) and S:t Olof. |
