About the museum
Trelleborgs Frisörmuseum displays a collection of hairdressing equipment from earlier times up to the present. The collection has been built up since the 1960s by a former hairdresser and product salesman, and since 1981 it has been housed in the Crafts Association's premises (Hantverksföreningens lokal) at Östergatan 1 in central Trelleborg.
The museum is on an attic floor reached by a steep, long staircase. Here are original interiors in solid wood from old hairdressing salons, older tools such as thinning shears, hair tonic and early perm machines. Many items come from Skåne, Småland and Blekinge.
