About the museum
Värmlands brandhistoriska museum (Värmland Fire History Museum) is run by Värmlands Brandhistoriska Klubb (Värmland Fire History Club) and is located in Storfors' old fire station, which is owned by Storfors municipality. The club researches and describes the development of fire protection in Värmland, both fires and preventive fire protection, and also compiles laws and regulations as well as the overall development across the country.
The exhibition shows objects related to the province's fire history. The members are fire brigades, private individuals and a few local companies, and the aim is to rescue old equipment and awaken interest in fire history. The exhibition highlights the connections between older fire protection and today's organisations.
The museum is not open daily but receives visiting groups by arrangement, not during the winter.
