About the museum
Casa Artusi has been open to the public since 2007. It is a centre for gastronomic culture dedicated to Italian home cooking and to the figure of Pellegrino Artusi, author of “La scienza in cucina e l’arte di mangiar bene”. The writer’s birthplace on Piazza Garibaldi no longer exists and is commemorated by a plaque.
The venue results from the restoration of the monumental complex of the Chiesa dei Servi and combines two aspects, knowledge and know-how: on one side the gastronomic library and the archive, the study and library of Artusi, deposited in 2011; on the other the kitchen, with the cookery school and the restaurant.
It is promoted by the Comune di Forlimpopoli and the Fondazione Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì, and works to develop tourism and promote the local culture through the spread of gastronomic culture.
