About the museum
The museum occupies the last rotating cheese dairy (casello turnario) remaining on the Tonezza plateau, a symbol of the local dairy tradition. In the past, families from the hamlets (contrade) brought freshly milked milk here to make cheese and butter, taking turns at the work according to set allocations.
The route tells the story of the mountain economy of the past: in addition to milk-processing techniques, it documents the traditions linked to the processing of meat and the tools of everyday life. A multimedia display takes visitors through the traditional kitchen, the heart of the house, and the master bedroom, enriched with farm and woodland tools.
