The Muzeum Sztuki Azji shows contemporary Japanese calligraphy on scrolls, fans and strips of paper. The Hatai style combines Chinese characters, Japanese syllabaries and various writing styles in a single composition.

In the courtyard of the Ratusz Staromiejski stands a cycle of sculptures by Maciej Wierzbicki, made from granite blocks that once formed parts of buildings. The works deal with the foundations of life: breath, toil and hope.
